NCAA Day One
NCAA's is off with a Bang. We've had 3 races so far, the Classic race on the Nordic side, and GS 
and Slalom on the Alpine side. I'll put the alpine results up here, because they aren't up on the alpine blog yet.
Women's GS:
Liz: 18th
Micaela: 31st
Women's Classic:
Natalie: 22nd
Men's Classic:
Sylvan: 21st
Sam: 36th
Women's Slalom:
Liz: 11th
Micaela: 18th
There are some standout results in there. Liz and
Micaela, of course both had awesome races, especially in Slalom... but you can read about that in the Alpine Blog when they write about it. On the Nordic side, Natalie's 22nd is an awesome start. Like Sylvan told her after the race, that was the place that he got in the classic race his first time to NCAA's back in Steamboat springs.
Sylvan and I weren't particularly please with our races. For me, I took the race out way to fast. At 3.5k I was given a split that I was 6 seconds up on Lex Treinen, who ended up in 16th. However, by the second lap it was obvious that I was blowing up. If you had listened closely to my legs you could probably could have heard the mass cellular explosion that was going on inside of them between 7 and 8k.
But on the bright side, we look really good in bibs that match our race suits.
Tomorrow is the Mass start skate, and the team is getting really excited for the final race. A 20k skate really needs trails like Rumford's to go well, and with less than 40 competitors there will be space to move around, which is nice.
